It’s a big day! The sea will splash, the parrots will scream and the subtle clink of seashells shifting around will sound as Seanaut is presented as a work in progress in Studio Hrdinů as a part of Bazaar festival tonight. I have been developing the performance together with choreographer Carolina Arandia since summer 2024, in residencies at the seasides of Turku archipelago, Finland and Mar del Plata Argentina. Since then we have been joined by Sabina Bocková and the rest of this fabulous team and tonight we finally have some public to have a sneak peak into this ode to everone and everything faring the seas. Feels good. Sabina and Carolina have given a great interview to operaplus.cz where you can read all about the journey so far (in czech).
Tomorrow will also be a big day, with another work-in-progress at the same festival! Anima Mundi is a performance initiated by Debora Štysová and Tinka Avramova. It delves into cyclical ritual space, metamorphic traditions and environmental transitions. Expect seasonal soundscapes and vegetal ambient. Showtime at 20:00 in Venuše ve Svehlovce!
