Silence and Other Impossible Objects dives head first into the deep end of an empty pool – the end where silence can be loud, where microsounds can be harsh and noise can be soothing. Silence is a mundane, nameable experience to most of us, but also a logical impossibility, as a total absence of sound is inexperiencable for a living being with functioning ears. Still, in a world getting louder and noisier by the day, an attempt at reaching this impossibility seems a worthy goal for an experimental musical.
